What is Fitness?- Personal Answer from Luci Blackborough
To me fitness means being healthy, eating well, exercising, getting the right amount of sleep, being a healthy weight and meeting the recommended amount of physical activity per day.
In HPE class, I participate in physical activity. It's a fun time for me and makes me feel relaxed. Moving my body and breathing fresh air make me relaxed after stressful classes. Deep and slow breathing in exercises helps me become calm. Fitness makes me feel good mentally and physically. It also improves my immune system and health.
Committing to a sport is great because I not only learn about the sport, I enjoy it, exercise and have fun. I communicate with more people and make more friends. Otherwise, I learn how to face failure and learn how to not be full of pride with successes. Fitness helps me with increasing my energy and will. I build my confidence, learn not to be afraid of crowds and learn how to react quickly.
All that is why I know that fitness is very important. Every week, I do gymnastics for two hours, walk or ride my bike. This is a good way to keep fit. After completing this, I have a great sense of achievement and feel better.
During the weekend, I go to the park near my house and play with my younger sister. Our favourite game we
play is "agility course". We imagine the play equipment is a course that we have to complete in the quickest time possible. We try to beat our previous record. When we do this, we run, jump, climb, slide. We just want to sweat, breathe air and enjoy playing. Playing together does not mean it is just for fun but it also helps people bond. More importantly, it is also a good way to exercise.
Spending just a few minutes a day for fitness will make our lives better. There are a lot of ways to become familiar with fitness. The more you exercise, the healthier you will be.
