Physical inactivity
Not exercising regularly can lead to severe health issues, and other important issues that interfere with life. People who do not do sufficient physical activity have a greater risk of cardiovascular disease, colon and breast cancers, Type 2 diabetes, osteoporosis, overweight, high blood pressure and high blood cholesterol.
How much is enough?
At least 30 minutes of moderate intensity physical activity on most or all days of the week is recommended by the National Physical Activity Guideline for Australians. For extra health and fitness, the guidelines also recommend enjoying some regular vigorous exercise as well, such as walking or jogging.
